Mobility budget = opportunity!

šŸ“œ Last week, quite a lot was written about a study conducted to gauge interest in the Mobility Budget.

After all, the mandatory introduction of the mobility budget is on the table:

āœ”ļøfrom 1 January 2027 all enterprises with more than 50 employees;

āœ”ļø from 1 January 2028, all enterprises with more than 15 employees.


The study showed that the popularity of the mobility budget could still use a boost. Often under the motto 'unknown is unloved'.

Or you can choose to offer only Pillars 2 and 3, so without a (smaller) electric company car. You are therefore not obliged to push through the electrification of your fleet, especially if your employees do not have the right mobility pattern, your car policy is not yet ready, or EVs are still too expensive, e.g. with car policies based on purchase budgets.


Or you can also require a specific group of employees to spend the mobility budget on an (electric) car after all, simply because this group needs the car as a work tool.


Or you can also offer the car in Pillar 1 without a charging card and provide reimbursement for professional mileage on top of the mobility budget. This might be useful for those companies located close to a station where public transport is possibly the most attractive mobility solution.


o you can determine the amount of the mobility budget: a rather limited budget if you use the actual cost formula of the individual car you are exchanging for a mobility budget or the average costs of cars currently in use in the same job category, to a rather generous budget based on the fixed cost formula.


Oh, in short, you can fully translate your mobility needs into the right mobility policy…
